NONE LIKE THE LORD
To whom will you liken Me, and make Me equal and compare Me, that we should be alike (Isaiah 46:5 New King James Version)?
Remember this, and show yourselves men; recall to mind, O you transgressors. Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure,’ calling a bird of prey from the east, the man who executes My counsel, from a far country. Indeed I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass. I have purposed it; I will also do it (Isaiah 46:8-11).
God is God. He is the creator and the giver of life. He is a jealous God, commanding us not to put anything before Him. Idols we make more important than God cannot save us, cannot feed us nor can they clothe us. They have no purposes or plans for us, and they certainly did not know us before we were formed in the womb. They do not speak, or see; they cannot move, nor orchestrate events in our lives indicating favor upon us. They aren’t able to test us, to build our character or to put us where we need to be. They are just there taking up space, physically and spiritually. Oh, this does not only mean having little statues lying around. Let us think about what we focus our attention on most of the day…what are we inadvertently worshiping? We must ask ourselves: How much time do I spend watching TV, versus how much time do I spend in prayer? Are my friendships based on how much money they, or I have? Do I pick where I serve based on where my friends are, or where the Lord tells me to go? Do I hang off the words of what others are saying, or am I listening for the Word of the Lord to speak to me? Am I following people, or our Lord? Is my bible being read, or being used as a paperweight?
There is nothing and no one on this earth that we can conceivably compare to the Living God. He is Sovereign, Holy, Just, Righteous, Loving and Merciful. If we have been putting something ahead of God, now is the time to examine ourselves and repent. Let us come back to Him for He is waiting. Perhaps He’s been calling us back, whispering our names, trying to get our attention and we haven’t been listening.
Let ‘s Pray: Dear Lord, we praise You for Your mercy. We praise You for being our creator, our breath of life, our manna, our living water! There is NO ONE like You and there is NONE OTHER! We ask for Your forgiveness, we have not been wholly Yours and we see now that we have put You off to the side. Please, we repent of our idol worship, our non-committal to You. Search our hearts, Lord, reveal our hidden anxieties and iniquities and lead us in Your way everlasting. In today’s world it is easy to become ensnared in it’s cares, Lord, we ask that You take the blinders off us, lift the veil that this world has placed over us. We thank You for never giving up on us, for loving us so much that You would leave Your sheep fold to search for us and draw us back to You. We can do nothing without You and we cannot compare You to anything here. You are Sovereign and You are Holy. We worship You and give You the glory and honor. In Your name Jesus, Amen.
Today’s Attitude of Worship: Today, quiet yourself, turn off the TV, radio, telephone, computer-whatever, turn it off, get on your knees, open your bible and answer His beckoning. Recommit yourself to Him today, while we have today. It’s not too late. Tomorrow is not promised to us.

The Word of God well understood and religiously obeyed is the shortest route to spiritual perfection. And we must not select a few favorite passages to the exclusion of others. Nothing less than a whole Bible can make a whole Christian. ~AW Tozer
