EXCEPTIONAL EYESIGHT
For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him (2 Chronicles 16:9a New King James Version).
Driving to and from work, I am always seeing Red Tailed hawks. I know they are formidable hunters and my eyes are inexplicably drawn to the bird, whether seated on its perch in a tree near the roadside, or while scanning the roadway for prey from the lamppost. Birds of prey are usually solitary; they have exceptionally keen eyesight and are able to spot the smallest rodent from great heights, so it’s no surprise I always see them perched somewhere high. There was one moment a bird was in full swoop downward mere feet from my swiftly moving car, as if to say “hello” before deftly catching an updraft and moving onward. Frightening as it may seem, I was also comforted. Each time I see this bird, the scripture above has danced across my heart and I am reminded of God’s love for me.
God’s creation speaks so clearly and wonderfully of His love for us. All we have to do is see how He reveals Himself in everyday things. I love to watch birds, I may not know what kind they all are, but I adore the beauty of their design and am fascinated by their ability for flight. All of creation reveals His glory.
Perhaps you’ve been feeling as though God has forgotten about you; or you are going through something you never thought you’d have to face. Be encouraged, God’s eyes search the earth so He can show Himself strong for those who have loyal hearts! Child, God has not forgotten about you, He has not left you, He will not leave you to face your trial alone.
Let’s Pray: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the love that You have shown us. Thank You for the blessings You pour out each day. Father, Your eyes see the smallest details that we miss and You search for hearts that are loyal to You. May our hearts be forever loyal so that You can show Yourself strong and mighty on our behalf. We are grateful that You love us so, that You search for us and that You never leave us nor forsake us; may we turn those moments of anxious loneliness over to You. Father, we adore You, we love and honor You, giving You all our praise and all our worship. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Today’s Attitude of Worship: Look around at God’s creation, see if you can spot Him revealing Himself. His beauty, His glory, His wonder, His love and tender care are all revealed throughout nature. Ask Him to show You a part of Himself and ask for the eyes to see it, I guarantee He will answer.
