I have some heavy things on my heart, one in particular has been a lead weight there for quite some time, but God is faithful and moves when He knows the time is right. Over the months I have prayed for tenderness and warmth in the heart, and this is what the Lord is showing me:
I see a meat tenderizer in the hand of a Chef, in front of Him is a piece of meat that resembles a gray, stony lump. As I watch, He carefully begins to tap the meat with the tool, He turns and flips the lump over and over while remaining steady in his pulverizing. As He works, I see the gray stony lump changing shape, form and color. The Chef is purposeful in His tapping, hitting right where it needs to be hit. When He is done, He reveals a warm, red and beating heart.
The scene changes and now I see a Man in front of a block of ice with a dark spot in the center. In the Man’s hand is an ice pic and He begins to chip away at the ice. He moves all around the block, chipping and chopping. As He works, He is humming and talking to the ice block, I cannot discern what He is saying, it’s for the block only. I watch Him work slowly, but purposefully and when He is done, the ice is in the shape of a human, and what was once a dark spot is now a beating heart.
I hear the Lord say “I AM working on the inside. When I work on the inside, the outside begins to change and conform to the work of My hands on the inside. I have heard your prayers and I know your heart’s cries, know that I AM at work on what you have asked and cried for. Release their heart to Me and know that I AM molding it to what I have purposed it to be.”
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26 NKJV).
The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes. Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the hearts (Proverbs 21:1-2).
This encouraging word is not simply for me only, but for those of us who have loved ones with seemingly icy and stony hearts. God is doing something wonderful and good, and with this encouragement, we can stand on His faithfulness! We can praise and thank Him for His wondrous works and He will be glorified in our prayers.
Shalom! ♥
