Today’s word is “Intimate Encounter”.
Psalm 27:8 says “When You said ‘Seek My Face,’ my heart said to You, ‘Your face I will seek.’” I see a small child curled up in the lap of his mother. His face is tucked in to her body, he is breathing deeply and she is stroking his hair, rubbing his back and whispering words of love, comfort and safety to him. Psalm 131:2 “Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.” The mother and child are experiencing an intimate encounter, not to be rushed, not to be broken, but to last as long as it needs to.
I hear the Lord whisper “Come to Me, seek My Face, crawl into My lap. Let Me comfort you, let Me calm and quiet your soul. I have seen your struggles, I have heard your cries. Come to Me, seek My Face and rest in My lap. Surrender your will to Mine, yield yourself to the work of My Spirit, do not fear the things in your life you do not yet understand and know that I AM working on your behalf in them. Do not be dismayed or discouraged by what you see and experience around you, focus on Me. Seek Me and know Me, rest in My embrace, let the Light of My Love guide you and listen for the soft, sweet song of My heart to penetrate the noise of this world. Crawl into My lap to calm and quiet your soul.”
I find words such as this comforting and encouraging. God is always looking out for us and He knows that in order for us to stand firm, we must refresh and strengthen ourselves in His presence. We must rest in His lap and trust ourselves to His care. Too often we needlessly carry our burdens and problems when all we really need to do is drop them at His feet and crawl up in His lap. There are times when all I pray is “Lord, I just want to sit on Your lap today and breathe in Your fragrance. That’s it, I don’t want anything more.” And you know what? He honors that request and I find everything else falls into perfect place and perfect peace.
Shalom,
Prudence ♥
