I see a lighthouse on a very long pier. There is a storm whirling all around, the winds are fierce and the waves are high. The combined sounds of the driving rain, the raging wind and the crashing waves, deafen me. The storm rages all around, but the lighthouse stands firm. I can’t see anything but the lighthouse.
I see a lighthouse on a shorter pier. This time it is surrounded by green pasture lands, with rolling hills and a livestock watering hole in the distance. The water kissing the shores of the pier is crystal clear and very shallow. I can see large boulders on the sea floor, sharp and deadly, able to tear a hole in a boat. Then I look closer and I see a break in the boulders that would only be noticed if one was following the light from the light house. This break is large enough to allow a boat to go through without harm and to anchor at the end of the pier.
I heard the Lord say, “I AM your lighthouse. Though there are raging storms surging around you, lift your gaze to the pure Light of My Presence. Let My Light guide your steps, plant your feet where I lead you. I will guide you through the choppy and stormy waters, wind and wave do not stand a chance for I AM there with you. Come to Me, focus on Me and walk on the waves. Keep your eyes on Me and take My hand. Walk with Me on the water into the purpose I have for you.
I AM your lighthouse when times seem peaceful. Even in peaceful times, you must stay alert and listen to Me. The enemy has set many traps to cause you to stumble, fall and break. Focus on Me, allow the Light of My Presence to illuminate the safest pathway to avoid the traps, and guide you to safety.”
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined (Isaiah 9:2 NKJV).
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life” (John 8:12).
Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path (Psalm 119:105).
And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me” (Matthew 14:28-30)!
So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him” (Matthew 8:27)!
Despite what is going on around us, the Lord is clear on one thing – we must stay focused on Him. He is in control, and no matter what goes on around us, He makes a way for us to get through. This is not simply a word for us as individuals, but also a corporate word. There are many raging storms coming as well as pockets of peace, we must be steadfast in our trust and faith that God is God and we are not. We must remain connected to our source and focused on our Lighthouse.!
