Forget not His benefits (Psalm 103:2b).
I have been thinking of this particular Scripture all morning. What a beautiful call to praise and worship! There is something powerful in our praise and worship of God. It is not only a weapon of our warfare, but it unlocks and opens doors of abundance. These doors include us and also those we pray for, who draw close to God. And, by abundance, I do not necessarily mean financial wealth, although it can sometimes be included in His benefits. The benefits of God are only limited by the box into which we put Him.
Some of His benefits include:
Mercy that lasts forever.
Unending love.
Eternal life.
Protection and security.
Water for the dry.
Rest for the weary.
Sufficient grace.
Provision.
Healing.
Joy.
Identity.
Purpose.
Blessing others.
Hinds feet in high places.
Shield.
Courage.
Ability to walk on water.
Strength.
Deliverance.
Redemption.
Help for unbelief.
The list goes on and on, but you get the picture. When we immerse ourselves in giving God all praise and worship, there is no way we can forget His benefits. He is FOR us, and His Spirit is IN us! He is the eternal God, the One who was, who is and who is to come! The Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End! As we remember His benefits, we find in ourselves a delight in Him only, thus enabling Him to grant the desires of our hearts.
When our hearts are sold out to the One who knows our hearts best, we are enabled and empowered to see farther, dream bigger, be bolder and take larger leaps of faith. You see, when we meditate on the benefits of God, we release Him from the box!
Psalm 103: 1-5 VOICE
O my soul, come, praise the Eternal
with all that is in me—body, emotions, mind, and will—every part of who I am—
praise His holy name.
O my soul, come, praise the Eternal;
sing a song from a grateful heart;
sing and never forget all the good He has done.
Despite all your many offenses, He forgives and releases you.
More than any doctor, He heals your diseases.
He reaches deep into the pit to deliver you from death.
He crowns you with unfailing love and compassion like a king.
When your soul is famished and withering,
He fills you with good and beautiful things, satisfying you as long as you live.
He makes you strong like an eagle, restoring your youth.
Shalom! 🙂
