Taste and See
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him (Psalm 34:8 NKJV).
Taste of His goodness; see how wonderful the Eternal truly is. Anyone who puts trust in Him will be blessed and comforted (Psalm 34:8 VOICE).
This particular Scripture has been on my heart for a while now. “Taste and see that the Lord is good”, “Taste of His goodness, see how wonderful the Eternal truly is.” We know how important food and water is to nourishing our bodies, yet Jesus said man does not live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). Jesus also referred to Himself as Bread from heaven (John 6:51). This makes perfect sense as Jesus is the Word. Nourishment is important to God, He has given us everything we need to nourish our spirit and bodies!
I see an awesome riverside banquet, and I hear the cry of our Father’s heart to come and sit, stay awhile and partake of His goodness. To really “taste” of Him. I know that once seated at the table and sharing in His bounty, the taste is so succulent, so fresh, so “good” there is nothing else that satisfies.
I hear the Lord say “Taste and see how good I AM. Come to Me when you need nourishment and I will feed you where you need it most. Come and be filled at My banquet, which I have laid out for you. I have ALL you need, I AM all you need. This world offers only temporary satisfaction and is a only a shadow. Taste of Me, I AM like a honey cake on your lips, I AM a refreshing drink. Taste of Me and be filled, be strengthened and be encouraged. My banquet table never empties and My river of living water never runs dry. Taste and see how good I AM.”
Shalom! 🙂
