Looking Ahead, Glancing Back

The year wanes before us, much like the last sliver of silver moonlight before a new moon. We are on the cusp of a new dawn. What does the upcoming year have for us? What new destinations will rise up before us? What obstacles will we need to navigate around? Questions, we have questions!

I’ve decided I don’t really need the answers to those questions. I have the answer to every question I’ll ever have to ask, and it is all I need. I have Jesus…He’s the Way, the Truth and the Life. All I need, I simply ask Him for. When I’m unsure of what’s ahead, I don’t have to ask anyone what to do or where to go, I just need to take His hand and go. When new things present themselves, I don’t have to question myself about them, I know Jesus will not let me make mistakes. Doesn’t matter what life brings, with Jesus, life can be tackled!

This year, I will be stronger in my faith. I will have faith that tackles faithlessness. I will intentionally and obviously stand on firm ground. I will have others see Jesus at work in me. I will have courage to trust and believe Jesus is my protector and fortress when I am severely buffeted by the arrows of the enemy. I will have boldness to speak the Truth and share the Gospel. I will say “Peace, be still” and get the same result Jesus did.

I am not going to spend more time than necessary looking back. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not promised, all I have right now is today. I want to cherish each “today” I am given and face it with robust joy, giving every breath I have in worship to my King.

Here’s to a joyful, courageous and Spirit-filled New Year!

Many blessings to you!
