Process, Provision, and Position
I saw busy, frenzied people moving about back and forth, doing many things, yet accomplishing nothing. They had smiles pasted upon their faces, but their body language said they were not happy and the smiles did not reach their eyes. They moved at a rapid pace, yet carried themselves as though weary. Clearly, they did not want to be doing what it was they were doing in the way they were doing it, but they felt powerless to stop and were getting nowhere.
As I watched I heard the Spirit speaking. Some are people who know what Papa has called them to, but are afraid to wait and let Him lead. They want it and they want it now, so they move ahead assuming the direction, steps, and process to take. Others are people who find it difficult to fully trust Papa. They are afraid of lack and disappointment, so they “help” by taking the bull by the horns and making the path themselves.
It is to them that Papa says, “My Child, I have not given you a spirit of fear, but one of power, love and a sound mind. Why are you still partnering with fear? You do not need to forge your way; rest in Me, listen closely and you will hear My voice telling you ‘this is the way, walk in it’. I AM not one to forget My promises to you. Trust Me in the process, trust Me for the provision, and trust Me for the position. Relinquish the control you feel you must have and let go of the unnecessary responsibilities you have taken on; allow Me to guide you. In Me you have no reason to fear reaching your destination. In Me you have all you need and more! I Am for you, partner with Me. You have no reason to be afraid. Have courage, I Am with you.”
It is so easy to try to help Papa out, especially when we don’t see degrees of movement or our needs aren’t met yet. I know, I’ve been there. We tend to take on more responsibility or over-promise our time, resources, and assistance. This not only puts unnecessary strain on us personally, but can drain our families, bank accounts and fracture relationships. Using Jesus as an example, He did nothing without Papa. He did not move or speak outside of Papa’s direction, and He did not lack for anything.
The devil wants us to think we must do everything on our own and we must hurry things along to gain our provision or position. He often uses comparison as a tool because he knows that when we compare ourselves to someone else, we can feel like Papa isn’t moving fast enough and that we should “do” something to help. It’s wonderful that we have the power to shut him and his propagators of fear down with Papa’s perfect love and His Holy Spirit!
Take hold of His love. Grab it, pull it close, nestle it in your arms and don’t let go! It will never let go of you!
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV).
“So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord of Hosts” (Zechariah 4: 6).
“We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.
God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.
Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love (1 John 4: 16-18 NLT).
