What Are We Being Distracted From?

As an intercessor, things are always multi-layered and multi-dimensional to me. This means I often see the world around me from a different perspective than most. The devil uses the same tactics every time, he does nothing new. However, he will increase intensity and frequency. This is what we are experiencing right now. Armor on, shields up, swords drawn! Stay alert and awake! What is going on that the enemy wants our prayer focused elsewhere? What is his goal in this moment?

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand (Ephesians 6:10-13 NKJV).

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled (2 Corinthians 10:3-6 NKJV).

We are spiritually engaging in skirmishes and scuffles designed to distract us and detract from his primary target. This causes us to withdraw troops from the current main battle. As prayer warriors, we must remain prayerful in what we have been tasked to cover and trust Papa for reinforcements when needed. Remember every army has rank and order, this is no different in the spirit world. We each have our assignment, keep pressing on.

Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them (2 Timothy 2:3-4 NLT).

We have all the resources of heaven at hand, let us begin to utilize them and take forward ground. Push back and press on!
