Today’s Encouragement 5/17/22

“Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you” (Ephesians 4:29-32 ESV).

I realize we live in tumultuous times. There is rampant and blatant evil roaming our streets, we are bombarded on every side with opinions masquerading as news and we are told our eyes and ears did not see or hear what we know they did. All this can bring us to the point of weariness and cause many to throw their hands in the air in surrender. Many have given in to “if ya can’t beat ’em, join’em” mentality.

This breaks my heart. In Christ, we are victorious! Satan is a defeated foe and we need to remember this. He has no more power over the Believer than we allow. He also has no new tactics and strategies. We must not react out of the same spirit he attacks us with for that weakens our witness and polutes the gospel.

I know there are wicked people who seemingly have the upper hand, however Scripture is quite clear on what happens to them. We must stop behaving and reacting to them out of the same spirit they are under. Attacking the person with curses, name calling, and death wishes puts us on the same level as those spirits. We have a higher seat than that and we must operate from our position in Christ. His death was for them as well and they need to have the same opportunity to hear the gospel as we did. Our prayer must be for their salvation and not their demise for Papa desires all men to be saved.

Scripture tells us to bless and not curse, therefore we must bless those who act devilishly. There is much power in our words and when we bless our enemies, we remove our flesh from the situation and allow the Holy Spirit to work.

Pray blessing and salvation over those who act wickedly. Pray from the seat of victory. Pray from Papa’s heart.
