Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth (Colossians 3:2NLT).

Today’s Encouragement 6/6/22

“For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body. So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire” (James 3:2, 5 ESV)!

We have what we say, whether calamity, sickness, health, joy or sorrow. We are made in the image and likeness of our Father, possessing the authority of Christ. We have the power of life and death contained in our tongues and therefore Scripture admonishes us to be quick to listen but slow to speak.

We must choose and weigh our words very carefully for they have the ability to create the atmosphere we walk in. If we are using negative, demeaning, hurtful words we are creating an atmosphere of sorrow, bitterness and pain. When we choose uplifting, encouraging, edifying and positive words, we create an atmosphere of joy and peace. Words can affect our health and the health of others we speak over. We reap what we sow, so make sure to plant words filled with life!
