Today’s Encouragement 7/6/22

And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these” (Mark 12:31 NKJV).

Everyone we meet or know should be considered a neighbor in this sense. In the parable of the good Samaritan a man was beaten and left for dead. The people you think would stop to take care of him passed him by. But the Samaritan, a person of whom the beaten man would have avoided, stopped and subsequently cared for him. Neighbors are not only those we get along with, but also those we don’t like.

To love others as ourselves requires us to put aside our feelings and give to others what they need out of what we have. And when we give in this way, we will receive back. Give love, mercy, kindness, time, resources, etc. This world needs to see and feel the love of Christ. Be a good neighbor!
