HARMLESS FUN? NOT!

HARMLESS FUN? NOT!

“When you come into the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD, and because of these abominations the LORD your God drives them out from before you. You shall be blameless before the LORD your God. For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the LORD your God has not appointed such for you (Deuteronomy 18: 9-14 New King James Version).

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21)

The Lord once spoke this word to me for His Church, “Stop fornicating with My enemy. He cannot and will not keep a promise. Turn to Me and repent. Turn to Me and be redeemed. The stench of sin and witchcraft does not become you, repent and be washed clean. I am the Lord and I am mighty to save.”

It hurts to see professing Christians or anyone else, posting daily horoscope  or daily tarot card updates on their Facebook pages, or talking about them. How can one call themselves by Christ’s name, and yet still be messing around with the devil’s toys?  1 John 1: 6 says, “If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.”  Horoscopes, divinations, witchcraft, sorcery, Santeria, voodoo, new age, etc. are all abominations to the Lord, they are things which exalt themselves above God, and when we dabble in them, we open doors Satan can, and will use to enter our lives.  If we allow a toehold for Satan, he will waltz in.  His job is to steal, kill and destroy, and there is nothing he enjoys better than to seduce God’s children with “harmless fun” such as horoscopes.  If we suffer from depression, constant sickness, addictions, financial woes, secluded ourselves from fellowship and family, troubles that never end, if our prayers never seem answered, if we always have something “going on”, turmoil within our family – let’s take a look at what doors we may have opened to the enemy.  Do we read the “horoscope” or practice abominable sins? Only God knows our future, He wrote it when He created us.  The devil will entice us by seeming to tell the future or telling us he can give power, but he is the father of all lies and incapable of truth.

Do you seek after this worldly power?  Do you desire to have all of your troubles washed away? Satan can and will exploit this by feeding your fleshly desires.  You are in bondage if you seek the assistance of mediums, witches, sorcerers, or fortune tellers and there is no future for you.  What once seemed fun and desirable; what once satisfied and met what you deemed as your needs now enslaves you.  Evil has a way of looking very desirable but becomes ugly when it grips you tight in it’s grasp, not letting you go. Only Jesus can truly set you free, His is the name to which all principals and powers must come into subjection to.  If you desire freedom, come to Jesus.  If you desire peace, come to Jesus.  If you are trapped by horoscopes, come to Jesus. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has set Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord” (Luke 4:18-19).  When in fellowship with the devil you are poor, brokenhearted, captive, blind and oppressed.

Repent and renounce your connection to abominable things, and come into fellowship with Christ. When He makes you free, you are free indeed!  Freedom in Christ means you may have to walk away from the people, places and things which have led you down evil paths, causing you to fall into temptation and sin, and sometimes these people are family.  God has a purpose and a plan for your life, which horoscopes, divinations and witchcraft are not part of.  Jesus is calling your name, won’t you answer?

Let’s pray: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the blessing of this new day.  Forgive us for our fornication with evil; forgive us for turning to sources that are not You; forgive us for believing the lies of Your enemy that it was all “harmless fun”; Father, we repent of our sin and we renounce our connection to evil.  We repent of giving in to our fleshly desires yet saying we are in fellowship with You.  We cut every tie of fellowship with the devil and we renounce our affiliation with those who serve him. Father, You are mighty to save and mighty to deliver; You are God, the alpha and the omega; You are our Father.  In You we have light, in You we have love, in You we have strength and purpose.  Father, open our eyes and tear off the veil that blinds us, we desire to see You and You only.  Father, teach us Your ways, speak to our hearts and revive us according to Your word.  Remove from us those that would influence us to sin and those that are not in alignment with You and bring into our lives those that You would have help guide us, help teach us, help walk with us on our journey.  Father, we love You and we desire to please You. In the mighty, redemptive and Holy name of Jesus, Amen.

Today’s Attitude of Worship:  Be aware of all that you do – all you read, all you watch, all of your acquaintance’s; pray for discernment to know what is of God and what is a lie of the devil.  Walk away from toxic relationships, it may seem hard, but God will help to break those relationships.  Don’t try to hold on to things that ultimately will destroy you.  Seek the Lord while He may be found.

Additional Scriptures:  Ephesians 5:1-21; 2 Corinthians 6:14-15; Numbers 24:1-9
